Training workshop for journalists inaugurated at PIB

DHAKA, March 6, 2025 (BSS) - A three-day training workshop on mobile journalism for the reporters of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) and Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University started today at Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) here. 

The workshop was inaugurated at 9:30 am on Thursday at the seminar room of PIB as PIB Director General Faruk Wasif was present as the chief guest. 

PIB Director of Studies and Training Department Parveen Sultana Rabbi and trainer Mohammad Shah Alam were also present. 

Faruk Wasif said journalists have a big responsibility in presenting true information. 

"Journalists should not see with one eye but to see with many eyes and verify the information and present the correct information to the people. In this way, as a journalist, you have to make yourself credible," he said.

Journalism has been ruined in the last 15 years, he said, calling for doing work to restore the respect of journalists.

Twenty-eight journalists from the two universities are participating in the workshop. 

PIB trainer Mohammad Shah Alam is coordinating the training workshop. 

The workshop will continue till March 8.
