KUSHTIA, Mar 6, 2025 (BSS) - Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain today inaugurated Shaheed Abrar Fahad Stadium in the district.
Barkat Ullah, father of Abrar Fahad, was present at that time.
Asif Mahmud said Abrar Fahad is not just a name, he is the chain of anti-aggression struggle. The stadium has been named after Abrar to remember him forever, he said.
Youth and Sports Secretary Rezaul Maksud Jahedi and Joint Secretary Aminul Islam, among others, were present at the event with Deputy Commissioner Towfiqur Rahman in the chair.
Earlier, Asif Mahmud visited the grave of Abrar at Koya village in Kumarkhali of the district.
The construction work of the stadium (previous name--Sheikh Russel Stadium) was inaugurated on January 13 in 2022 worth about Taka 40 crore. Later, the name of the stadium has been changed after August 5 last year.
