Khalid for executing Quranic teachings, ideals to stop violence

DHAKA, Mar 08, 2025 (BSS)- Religious Affairs Advisor Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain has said it is possible to prevent violence against women by executing the teachings and ideals of the Holy Quran.

“Quranic teachings and ideals is essential to stop violence against the women,” he said while speaking at Hifzul Quran Competition 2024-25 organized by Greater Mymensingh Youth Association at Dhaka Officers’ Club here today.
The advisor said, Women were honored in the Holy Quran. It is also mentioned in the Hadith Sharif that a child's paradise lies under the mother’s feet.

The adviser urged all to spread the ideals of the Quran throughout the society with taking necessary initiatives to enhance the practice of the Holy Quran.

“If we pay attention to the practice, understanding and rulings of the Quran, it is possible to form a non-discriminatory state structure,” he added.

President of the Greater Mymensingh Youth Association Barrister Mutasim Billah Faruqi presided over the programme.

Justice Md Jahangir Hossain of High Court division, President of the Greater Mymensingh Association valiant freedom fighter Abdus Salam, President of the Dhaka-based Jamalpur Zila Samity Association M Rashiduzzaman Millat, Mymensingh Youth Association general secretary Mohammad Shafil Mahmud Shami, among others, spoke on the occasion.

The adviser distributed crests and certificates among the winners of the Quran recitation competition.
