Govt to try best to complete repair of roads by Ramadan 15: Fouzul

Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan held a meeting today with officials of the Ministry of Road Transport, Bridges, and Railways in Dhaka.

DHAKA, Mar 9, 2025 (BSS) – Road Transport and Bridges Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan today said that the authorities concerned will try their best to complete repair work of roads within Ramadan 15 to ensure smooth Eid journey.

“We will try to complete repair work of roads as money as possible within Ramadan 15 to ensure smooth Eid journey,” he told journalists in a briefing after holding a meeting with officials concerned of the Ministry of Road Transport, Bridges and Railways at Bijoy Hall here.

Discussions were held to make comfortable journey of home-bound people ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr faster and safer, Fouzul, also the railways ministry adviser, said, adding that the responsible authorities are working sincerely with the government to repair all roads in the country. 

He said closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs) will be set up for ensuring safety of the passengers at bus and water transport terminals ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. Around one to one-and-a-half crore people usually go to their village homes to celebrate Eid with their near and dear ones, he added.  

To avoid robbery in roads and highways, the number of law enforcers will be increased, he added.

A committee will be formed in coordination with Bangladesh Road Transport Authority and city corporations to check passenger harassment and black ticketing during Eid journey, he said.
