DHAKA, March 7, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to file a case against former state minister for disaster management and relief Md Enamur Rahman for his alleged involvement in acquiring movable and immovable wealth inconsistent with known income sources.

ACC Director General (prevention) Md Akhter Hossain told journalists at a briefing here today.

He said the ACC found in its investigation that Dr. Enamur Rahman accumulated assets worth over Tk 8.53 crore. Of this, his total acceptable income was Tk 2 crore, 2 lakh, 14 thousand, and 562. However, he failed to provide proper documentation for his income sources involving Tk 6 crore, 50 lakh, 92 thousand, and 785.

Besides, the ACC official claimed that Enamur made suspicious transactions amounting to over Tk 12.69 crore through his five bank accounts at different times.

Consequently, the ACC recommended filing a case against Enamur.

Meanwhile, the ACC asked Enamur's wife, Rawshan Akhter Chowdhury, to submit her wealth statement to the commission, as assets worth approximately Tk 28 crore, 26 lakh, 89 thousand, and 299 found in her possession which were inconsistent with known sources of income.
