ICT gets complaint over enforced disappearance of Chowdhury Alam

DHAKA, March 10, 2025 (BSS) - The prosecution of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today received a complaint over enforced disappearance of BNP leader Chowdhury Alam from the city's Farmgate Indira Road area in 2010.

Victim's son Abu Sayed Chowdhury filed the complaint in writing against 18 people, including Awami League leader Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, at the chief prosecutor's office at the ICT this morning.

The other accused are Major Gereral (sacked) Ziaul Ahsan, Rear Admiral Md Sohayel, Colonel Md Muzibur, Riajul Islam, Major Ershad, Bahauddin Nasim, Khan Md Akteruzzaman, Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat, Farid Uddin Ratan, Nisar Uddin Ahmed Kazal, Afjal Hossain, Abdur Rahman, Abdul Baset Master, Shahjahan Khan, Md Shahjahan, Mir Ali Mamun, and Ismail Hossain Bacchu.

Chowdhury Alam was picked up by plain-clothed security personnel from in front of Kalindi Apartment in Indira Road area in the capital's Farmgate around 7:30 pm on June 25, 2010. He is yet to be found.
