Home ministry provides Tk 5 lakh more to firefighter Nayan’s parents

DHAKA, Mar 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs has donated Tk 5 lakh more to the parents of firefighter Md. Swanur Zaman Nayan (24), who died in a hospital after being hit by a truck while dousing fire at the secretariat.

Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd.) handed over a cheque for Tk 5 lakh to Nayan's parents in his office at the Bangladesh Secretariat here this afternoon.

Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on Home Affairs Md. Khuda Baksh Chowdhury, Director General of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Brigadier General Muhammad Jahed Kamal were present, among others.

Earlier, on January 6, 2025, the Home Adviser handed over Tk 5 lakh to Nayan's parents. A total of Tk 10 lakh has been donated to Nayan's family by the Home Ministry.

In addition, the Fire Service and Civil Defense provided Tk 1 lakh as donation and Tk 50000 for burial expenses of the deceased Nayan on December 26, 2024.
