Adviser Sakhawat leads BD delegation to ILO session

DHAKA, March 10, 2025 (BSS) – A high-level delegation of the ministry of Labour and Employment led by Adviser M Sakhawat Hossain has joined 353rd session of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Governing Body at Geneva, Switzerland.

Adviser to the Ministries of Labour and Employment and Shipping M Sakhawat Hossain, Secretary to the Ministry of Labour and Employment AHM Shafiquzzaman and Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to Geneva Tareq Md Ariful Islam joined the inaugural session today.

During the event, Adviser M Sakhawat Hossain engaged in informal discussions with ILO Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo and other senior ILO officials and discussed about the overall improvement of labor conditions in Bangladesh.

The Adviser highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the current administration to enhance the country's labor environment and employment standards.

The Bangladesh delegation is expected to actively participate in the upcoming sessions and crucial discussions throughout the event, according to an official handout.
