Security enhanced at city’s diplomatic zone

DHAKA, April 7, 2025 (BSS) – The government has heightened security measures in diplomatic zone- Gulshan, Baridhara- in the city against the backdrop of the protest demanding an end to the genocide in Gaza and establishment of an independent Palestine state. 

As part of the move, the army, BGB, APBN, SB, CID, police and intelligence forces have been put on high alert in the areas, particularly surrounding the US embassy in Gulshan to ensure foolproof security and avoid any untoward incident.

“We have taken all out security arrangement in the diplomatic zone at Gulshan and Baridhara areas centering the protest. All the security forces except RAB have been deployed to ensure security there. No untoward incident was taken place thanked to the security arrangement,” Ali Ahmed Masud, Assistant Commissioner (AC) of the Gulshan Division told BSS this afternoon. 
 
In addition, members of the security forces have stopped traffic from the road adjacent to the US Embassy from Notun Bazar to Gulshan. The on-duty police personnel said that restrictions have also been imposed on the movement of people through there.
