DHAKA, April 9, 2025 (BSS) - The Fire Service and Civil Defense Department (FSCD) today celebrated its 44th founding anniversary. 

FSCD Director General Brigadier General Muhammad Jahed Kamal inaugurated the event by cutting a cake at the Fire Service and Civil Defense Training Complex in Mirpur, Dhaka, said a press release.
 
Directors of the department and officers and employees of various ranks were present. 

To mark the anniversary, a special prayer ceremony was organized at all fire stations including all mosques of the fire service after Zohr prayers. At the same time, a reception was organized at all divisional offices, district offices and fire stations today noon. 

In a message, the Fire service chief wished all the officers and employees of the Fire Service and Civil Defense on their anniversary. 

He also called on everyone to take an oath on this anniversary day to fulfill their duties faithfully and strive to enhance the reputation of the Fire Service and Civil Defense as before. 

He wished everyone well and good health.

It is worth noting that on April 9, 1981, the Fire Service and Civil Defense Directorate was established by merging the Fire Service Directorate, the Civil Defense Directorate, and the Road and Highway Rescue Unit.
