ICT investigators trying to recover deleted info of July uprising

DHAKA, April 13, 2025(BSS) - The investigators of the International Crime Tribunal (ICT) have been trying to recover the deleted information and evidences of the July uprising by using most sophisticated technology.
The Chief Prosecutor of ICT Mohammad Tajul Islam revealed the information today in a view exchange meeting with reporters covering ICT at his office here.
The Chief Prosecutor told the reporters that the perpetrators of the deposed Awami League government have been trying to destroy or erase the information and evidences of July uprising.
They are trying to burn or destroy it secretly from police stations and hospitals, he said adding that they are also trying to suppress the information and evidences of crime-prone establishments by changing its structure, destroying walls or disfiguring it. The investigators are trying for recovering it, he added.
Tajul Islam said that there were attempts to destroy or delete the digital evidences including video and audio clips and internet data of the uprising after the fall of last “fascist” government.
The anti-discrimination students had started movement against quota system in government serevice from the month of July last year and the situation became hot following a High Court judgment.
Following the 36 days students led mass upsurge the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had to resign on August 5 and fled away from the country. The ICT has been trying to try the persons, who have committed crimes “against humanity”.
