Govt forms 5-member body to ensure BTV-Betar autonomy, review media policies

DHAKA, June 19, 2025 (BSS) - As per the recommendations of the Media Reform Commission, a five-member committee has been formed to ensure the autonomy of the state-owned Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar. 

The committee will work to prepare a roadmap for implementing the recommendations of the Media Reform Commission and will also review the policies for television and other media announced during the last 15 years and formulate future policies.

This committee will be led by Education Adviser CR Abrar, said a press release issued by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing. 

The other members of the committee are: Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul, Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Road Transport and Bridges Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan and Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan.

This decision was taken at a meeting at the State Guest House Jamuna here this afternoon with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.
