KHULNA, June 20, 2025 (BSS) - Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University (KU) Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim today said that higher education should not be confined to academic curricula alone; it must be enriched with practical experience and relevant knowledge.

"Alumni can play a crucial role in making university curricula more contemporary, skill-based, and career-oriented by sharing their real-world insights," he said while launching the Alumni Association of the Human Resource Management (HRM) Discipline at Khulna University, held at the Liaquat Ali Auditorium of the university.

The VC mentioned that KU alumni are currently serving in various prominent institutions both at home and abroad. Therefore, a platform for mutual communication, cooperation, and experience-sharing among them is essential.

To this end, the university administration is undertaking a tracer study to include all alumni in a modern, information-rich database, aiming not only to establish better communication but also to contribute meaningfully to the university's strategic planning.

Former Dean of the School of Management and Business Administration at Khulna University and current Treasurer of Rabindra University, Professor Dr. Firoz Ahmed; current Dean of the same school, Professor Dr. Md. Nur Alam; and Head of the HRM Discipline, Prosenjit Tarafdar, along with Assistant Professors Syed Azharul Islam and Tasnia Jannat of the HRM Discipline, also addressed the event as special guests.

Md. Mehedi Hasan Masud, Convener of the newly formed Alumni Association committee, presided over the event.
