JU Prof Monwar nominated for Nat'l Wildlife Conservation Award

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, June 20, 2025 (BSS) - Professor Dr Md Monwar Hossain of the Zoology Department at Jahangirnagar University has been nominated for the National Wildlife Conservation Award 2025 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to wildlife conservation and research.

The nomination was confirmed in a press release issued by Mohammad Mahiuddin, Acting Director of JU Public Relations Office, this afternoon.

According to the release, Prof Monwar will receive the award in the category of Wildlife Education and Research, presented by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Meanwhile, JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan congratulated Dr Monwar on the prestigious nomination. 

In a statement, he expressed pride in the recognition, saying, "We are proud and delighted that Prof Dr Md Monwar Hossain has been nominated for this national honour."

He also commended Dr Monwar's dedication and accomplishments in the field of wildlife research, adding that his work has significantly enhanced the university's reputation and academic standing.
