3 Chinese universities sign MoU with IU

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Kushtia, July 14, 2025 (BSS) – Three universities in China signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with the Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia. 

Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University Prof. Dr Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah singed the agreements with the Chinese universities during his recent visit to China. 
The universities are: Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuchang University of Technology, and Guilin University of Technology, the VC disclosed this to journalists at a briefing here today. 

These agreements will open up the doors to facilitate teacher-student exchange, joint curriculum development, collaborative research initiatives, and organizing seminars, symposiums and workshops together, he said.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr M Yeaqub Ali, Treasurer Prof. Dr Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Acting Registrar Prof. Dr Manjurul Haque, Proctor Prof. Dr Md Shahinuzzaman, Student Advisor Prof. Dr Md Obayedul Islam, Director of the International Affairs Division Prof. Dr Md Nasir Uddin Mizy and Acting Director of the Information, Publication, and Public Relations Office Md Sahed Hasan were present at the briefing.

“In this initial stage, the MoU’s have been broadly framed. In the next phase, we will work toward more specific agreements,” the VC said.
He further said that efforts will be undertaken to introduce a Chinese language course at IU, establish a Confucius Institute, and create scholarship opportunities in China for IU students, alongside strengthening academic exchange programs.
