DHAKA, July 15, 2025 (BSS) - Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser M Siraz Uddin Miah today urged the youth to develop a mindset of becoming entrepreneurs to achieve self-reliance.
"Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has placed enormous trust in the country's youth as they are the key to future success. The mentality of becoming entrepreneurs should be cultivated with the aim of achieving self-reliance. Once this is done, skilled youth can create job opportunities themselves," he said.
The CA's Principal Secretary today made the remarks while addressing a discussion and prize-distribution ceremony at the Investment Building in Agargaon here as the chief guest, marking the World Youth Skills Day.
The National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) organised the event, presided over by its Executive Chairman (Secretary) Rehana Perven.
Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Md Mahbub-Ul-Alam also spoke at the event, among others, as a special guest.
As artificial intelligence (AI), coding, robotics, and cloud-based tools continue to reshape the global landscape of work, learning, and daily life, said Siraz Uddin Miah, adding the demand for digital fluency is increasing day by day.
In this context of rapid transformation, this year's World Youth Skills Day is being observed under the apt theme: 'Youth Empowerment through AI and Digital Skills'.
With youth recognized as the primary catalysts for change, the theme underscores the critical need to equip the younger generation with future-ready skills that match the pace of technological advancement, he added.
Coping with current advanced global trends, the youth of Bangladesh will rise to the challenge by embracing technological skills to build a just, peaceful, and sustainable future, he hoped.
As the country continues its digital transformation journey, young people are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping inclusive and resilient communities powered by knowledge and technology, he said.
Other speakers said that, on the occasion of the day, the NSDA reaffirmed its commitment of coordinating and maintaining quality in the country's overall skill development activities.
The objective is to pave the way for building a skilled human resource base aligned with the demands of both domestic and international labor markets, they added.
The NSDA has been working with unwavering dedication to eliminate inconsistencies in skill development efforts and to maintain quality standards, they lauded.
