RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, July 15, 2025 (BSS) - The Folklore Department at 
Rajshahi University (RU) has been renamed as 'Folklore and Social Development 
Studies'. 

The decision was taken at the university's Academic Council meeting on 
Monday. 

Confirming the matter, Amirul Islam Kanak, a teacher and student advisor of 
the department, said that the name of the Folklore Department has been 
changed to 'Folklore and Social Development Studies'.
