Spirit of July Revolution must be upheld in unison: BMU VC

DHAKA, July 15, 2025 (BSS) - A video documentary was screened today at the Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) in the capital as part of observing the month of July mass uprising in remembrance of the July Mass Uprising 2024.

Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Md. Shahinul Alam inaugurated the video documentary at the university's Shaheed Dr. Milon Hall.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Md. Shahinul Alam said the July Revolution is a matter of emotion while many researches would be conducted in political science across the globe on the July Revolution in the days to come.
 
"The revolution succeeded because people from all walks of life participated in it. The desired victory was achieved while the country was also freed from fascism. The spirit of the July Revolution must be upheld in unison. Only then the revolution will truly be meaningful," he added.

The Dean of the Dental Faculty Associate Prof Dr. Shakhawat Hossain Sayantha elaborated on the theme and significance of the video documentary exhibition in remembrance of the mass uprising 2024.

BMU Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Pro-VC (Research & Development) Prof Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman Howlader, Treasurer Prof Dr. Nahrin Akhter, Dean of the Faculty of Surgery Prof Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin, Registrar Prof Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Proctor Associate Prof Dr. Sheikh Farhad, other teachers, doctors, officials, nurses, and staff were present, among others, on the occasion.
