DHAKA, July 17, 2025 (BSS) - The Ministry of Cultural Affairs will observe 'July 18 Private University Resistance Day' tomorrow as part of the ongoing month-long July Commemoration Programme marking the anniversary of the historic July Uprising.

A cultural event featuring film screenings, performances of July songs and a drone show will be held at 6 pm at the Hatirjheel Amphitheater in the capital, according to a press release issued today.

The programme will open with the national anthem. Several short films will be screened, including 'Heroes Without Capes: Private University in July', 'You Failed to Kill Abrar Fahad', 'July Woman' and 'July Birgatha', which depict the role and resistance of private university students during the uprising.

The fighters of the July Uprising from private universities will be honored, followed by musical performances by artists Sezan, Tashfi and Sunny, along with bands Rapper Collective and Artcell, who will perform July songs.

The event will conclude with a drone show themed on the mass uprising and its prelude.

The Ministry of Cultural Affairs expects participation from all, including students of schools, colleges, and both public and private universities.
