Health adviser stresses on research based medical education

MYMENSINGH, July 17, 2025 (BSS) - Health and Family Welfare Adviser Nurjahan Begum has laid emphasis on research based medical education for the welfare of the people. 

“The country should maintain the quality of the medical education and building doctors with human values for the welfare of the people”, she said.

The health adviser was exchanging views with the teachers and students of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital here on Wednesday.

The adviser went to the campus of the medical college and visited various programmes of the Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital.

Earlier, the health and family welfare adviser visited the Habirbari Model Union health and family welfare center and different wards and service departments of the facility. 

During her visit, the adviser talked to patients and enquired about medical programmes, availability of the drugs and quality of medical services.

Local health administration officials including Health education and family welfare division secretary Dr M Sarwar Bari, Director of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital Brigadier General M Golam Ferdous, Principal Professor Dr Nazmul Alam Khan and Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh Mufidul Alam, among others, were present on the occasion.
