MUNSHIGANJ, July 18, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam today said they are fighting against Mujibism and fascism and hoped that they would win in this fight.

“We know that another fight is coming. We are preparing for that fight. We must face that fight with courage,” he told a street rally at the Krishi Bank premises in the district.

NCP is holding July March countrywide for justice, reform and reconstruction of the state.

Nahid said, “Fascists have carried out attacks in Gopalganj. But such attack cannot suppress us. We need to build a culture of protest in every neighborhood.”

He called upon everyone to be vocal against fascist forces saying “We have to fight more to build a new Bangladesh. We have learned to protest. We will return home after ensuring our rights and dignity.”

Nahid said, the country is now under a grave situation of violence and terrorism. A dire situation is prevailing on educational and health sectors. The transportation system is fragile, there is no employment. People want to stand with their heads high by solving these obstacles and problems,” he said.

Majedul Islam, the chief coordinator of the NCP for Munshiganj, chaired the programme while NCP leaders Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, Akhter Hossain, Samantha Sharmin, Dr. Tasnim Zara were present.

Sarjis Alam said there is still a long way to go to build a country free from exploitation. “We all have to walk that path together. If fascists are given space, they will become more dangerous. We have to remain united against the terrorist Awami League. Hasina must be brought to justice,” he said.

Later, the leaders participated in prayers for the martyred and injured July fighters at the main Jumma Masjid in the town.
