DHAKA, July 21, 2025 (BSS)- Election Commission (EC) has sought information of the returning officers, presiding officers, assistant presiding officers and polling officers, who served in the 10th, 11th and 12th parliamentary elections.

The EC has sent letters to all deputy commissioners including Dhaka and Chattogram divisional commissioners seeking information of the officials who were responsible for conducting polls in 2014, 2018 and 2024.

The EC sent the letters in response to the request of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to submit all information of the election officials of those polls to investigation into a case filed with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar thana on June 22, 2025, said EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed.

The PBI requested the EC to send full information of the election officials with parents’ names, permanent and current address, national identity card and passport number and mobile number and the polling centre where they were on duty in the 10th, 11th and 12th parliament elections.

The EC requested all concerned to send the above information on an urgent basis.

Akhtar Ahmed said they are collecting information from the field level. PBI has asked for a list of names of those who were deputed in the field level during the last three parliamentary elections.
