Strong resistance waged by Madrasah students in July Uprising: Khalid

DHAKA, July 21, 2025 (BSS)- Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain today said madrasah students, including Alia and Qawmi, waged a strong resistance against fascism during the ‘July Uprising’.

"Madrasah students were injured in this revolution, many lost their lives,” he said while speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of ‘Madrasah Resistance Day 2025’ at  Jamia Mahmudia Madrasah premises at Uttar Kajla area in the city, said a press release. 

The Technical and Madrasah Education Division of the Ministry of Education organised the 'July Resurgence Programme-2025' to commemorate the heroic sacrifice, struggle and resistance of madrasah students during July Uprising in the last year.

 Khalid expressed hope that madrasah students will be ready to make the highest sacrifices for the development of Bangladesh in the coming days as well.

The day-long programmes included speeches by the martyrs' families, presentation of the list of martyrs, a documentary film exhibition titled 'White Jubba
 (long cloth), Red Blood' on  madrasah martyrs and an Islamic cultural evening.
