DHAKA, July 21, 2025 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam has said the sacrifices of madrasah students in uprooting fascism will be remembered forever.

“Madrasa students fought from the front line in the July mass uprising. Many madrasah students were martyred,” he said.

Mahfuj Alam was addressing a rally marking the ‘Madrasah Resistance Day’ at Jamia Mahmudia Madrasah at Jathrabari in the capital organised by the Technical and Madrasah Education Division.

Mahfuj prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyred madrasah students.

He said Bangladesh will go a long way and the rights of all will be established if madrasah students, the religious community and religious people are united.

Highlighting the oppression on the Alem community during the last 15 years of fascist Awami League government, he said that hatred towards madrasah students and alemes was a state policy.

Regarding the police action on a rally at Shapla Chattar on May 5, 2013, he said that 60 to 70 or more people were killed in indiscriminate firing in that night, injuring many others.

He urged the madrasah students to remain always vocal against any oppression on them.
