Initial registration for Hajj 2026 begins on July 27

DHAKA, July 21, 2025 (BSS) - Initial registration for the 2026 Hajj will begin on July 27 and the pilgrims wishing to perform hajj next year should complete their initial registration by depositing Taka four lakh.

The decision was taken today at a meeting of the Ministry of Religious Affairs at Bangladesh secretariat with Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain in the chair, said a press release here.

According to the Saudi government's roadmap, there is an obligation to complete the final registration for Hajj by October 12 this year. Within this period, pilgrims will have to complete the initial registration and then deposit the remaining amount of the Hajj package for final registration. 

The Ministry of Religious Affairs will announce the 2026 Hajj package as soon as possible, subject to the calculation of the expenses in Saudi Arabia and the airfare for travel.

Hajj pilgrims can make initial and final registration through the e-Hajj system (www.hajj.gov.bd), Labbaik mobile app, Union Digital Center, Islamic Foundation's divisional, district and Baitul Mukarram offices and Ashkona Hajj office. 

Those persons wishing to perform Hajj through private agencies must register their names through an approved Hajj agency, it added.

The meeting was informed that the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has instructed to finalize the schedule of the Hajj flight and money for sacrificial animal on the Nusuk Masa platform before renting houses in Mecca and Medina for the next Hajj season. 

In addition, the Saudi government has made the medical fitness mandatory for all pilgrims from next year. 

Religious Affairs Secretary AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik, Additional Secretaries M A Awal Howlader and Dr. Ayatul Islam, President of the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) Syed Golam Sarwar and Secretary General Farid Ahmed Majumder, among others, were present.
