Residential building fire at Shewrapara under control

DHAKA, July 22, 2025 (BSS) – The fire that broke out in a multi-storey residential building in the capital’s West Shewrapara this afternoon was brought under control with one hour of intense efforts.  

The fire broke out on the fourth floor of the building around 16.15pm today, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) Rafi Al Faruk told BSS.

Three fire fighting engines brought the fire under control around 7:18pm, senior station officer of Mirpur Fire Station Md Shahjahan Siraj told BSS. 

No report of casualties has so far been received, he said, adding that the inhabitants of the house came out of the building immediately after the fire incident took place. 

The cause behind the fire could be known after investigation.
