KCC, KU hold doa mahfil for aircraft victims

KHULNA, July 22, 2025 (BSS) - A doa and munajat was held at the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) mosque today after Johr prayers, seeking eternal peace for those who lost their lives in Monday's Air Force fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College in the capital's Uttara area, and for the quick recovery of the injured.

Organised by KCC, officers and employees, including Chief Executive Officer (In-Charge) Sharif Asif Rahman and Chief Engineer Moshiur Rahman Khan, were present during the doa and munajat.

Besides, Khulna University (KU) organised separate doa and munajat at the central Jam-e-mosque and another mosque adjacent to the administrative building after Johr prayers as part of the state mourning programme.

KU VC Prof Dr Md Rezaul Karim, Pro-VC Prof Dr Harun-or-Rashid Khan, Acting Registrar Prof Dr S M Mahbubur Rahman, along with teachers, officers, and employees, attended the prayers.

A prayer was also held at the KU temple this afternoon.

Meanwhile, leaders of different socio-cultural and political organisations, including BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and National Citizen Party (NCP), have expressed profound shock and sorrow at the tragic crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft on the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara, Dhaka, on Monday.

In a condolence messages today, the organisations prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and the speedy recovery of the injured.
