Seminar on Norwegian higher education, research held in BRUR

RANGPUR, July 22, 2025 (BSS) - A day-long seminar on higher education and research in the Scandinavian country of Norway was held for students at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) in the city today. 
 
The BRUR Scholarship Support Office organised the seminar in the virtual classroom of Academic Building-2 of the university.
 
Students from various departments of Begum Rokeya University participated in the event. 

Nishat Arefin Mondal, PhD researcher at the University of Inland Norway, as a speaker at the seminar discussed in detail the issues related to higher education and research in Norway. 
 
The university's Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali attended the seminar as the chief guest. 
 
In his speech, the Vice-chancellor said that the current administration has taken various steps for the skill development of BRUR students beyond academic studies.  
 
“The Norwegian educational institutions are the top choice for students from all over the world for higher education and research,” he said. 
 
The Vice-chancellor said today's seminar will be helpful for BRUR students to explore the opportunities for higher education in the European country of Norway. 
 
He called upon the students to involve in research activities in addition to academic results to establish Begum Rokeya University as a merit-based campus.
