DHAKA, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS) - Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain today
said it is entirely up to the Election Commission (EC) to decide regarding
the foreign observer to monitor the next national election.

"It is entirely an issue of the Election Commission. We have no role to play
in this regard," he said while giving an answer to a question of a reporter
at the foreign ministry here this afternoon.

Md Touhid Hossain said the government has no role in approving or
facilitating the presence of observers unless the Election Commission
formally asks for support.

The adviser added that the caretaker administration will not extend any
assistance to foreign observer missions independently.

"We will not extend any assistance to the observers until the EC asks for any
support," he noted.

Hossain emphasized that Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus had already
outlined the framework for how the upcoming polls will be conducted, with
implementation resting solely with the Commission.

Responding to a question on whether Bangladesh would consider sending
election observers to Myanmar, the adviser dismissed the idea.

"The first question is why we need to send observers there. This is their
internal matter," he added.
