DHAKA, Dec 1, 2025 (BSS) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep concern over the health of former Bangladesh Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, offering prayers for her recovery and reaffirming New Delhi's readiness to extend support.

"I'm deeply concerned to learn about the health of Begum Khaleda Zia, who has contributed to Bangladesh's public life for many years. Our sincere prayers and best wishes for her speedy recovery. India stands ready to extend all possible support, in whatever way we can," in a post from his official X handle, Modi wrote.

The Indian premier's message comes as Khaleda Zia continues to undergo advanced medical treatment, drawing attention from regional leaders and international well-wishers.

Modi highlighted Khaleda Zia's long-standing role in Bangladesh's political life and reiterated India's willingness to assist "in whatever way we can," underscoring New Delhi's stated commitment to humanitarian cooperation with Dhaka.
