
DHAKA, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) - Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam today said
diplomatic journalism is strengthening Bangladesh's foreign policy as three
journalists received the DCAB Media Award for outstanding reporting on
diplomacy.
The Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) organised the
DCAB Media Award and Members' Writers' Honour Ceremony at the Foreign Service
Academy in Dhaka, with Asad Alam Siam attending as the chief guest.
The Foreign Secretary, along with jury board head editor of Dhaka Tribute
Riaz Ahmed, handed over the awards to the winners.
Arifuzzaman Mamun, diplomatic correspondent of Daily Amader Shomoy, won the
award in the print category, while Mahfuzur Rahman Mishu, Foreign Affairs
Editor of Jamuna Television, received the television category award. Apurbo
Kumar Piku, diplomatic correspondent of Sarabangla.net, was named the best
reporter in the online category.
Speaking at the event, Asad Alam Siam said that amid complex geopolitical
realities, diplomatic journalists are playing a constructive role in
addressing multifaceted challenges related to foreign policy and
international relations.
He expressed hope that journalists covering the diplomatic beat would
continue to serve national interests through responsible and professional
journalism, and commended DCAB for the initiative.
DCAB President A. K. M. Moinuddin and General Secretary Arifuzzaman Mamun
also spoke at the programme.
