RAJSHAHI, Dec 24, 2025 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana here today said the government employees should know the laws for consolidating the administrative foundations of the state.

She also said the government employees should attain legal knowledge for enhancing the dignity of the government side by side with establishing justice in the society.

The Info Secretary made the observation while addressing virtually a training workshop titled “Supportive Laws for Conducting Cases, Techniques of Writing SF (Statement of Facts), and Responsibilities” as chief guest.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized the training at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC), where officials under the ministry from eight districts in Rajshahi division attended.

The chief guest said that the fundamental objective of laws is to maintain peace and order in society.

To clearly understand which demands are legitimate and which are not, one must know the laws, she said.

“When responsible individuals know the laws, they can make the right decisions in any situation. Legal knowledge not only helps individuals or institutions make correct decisions but also helps avoid unwanted mistakes and disorder, contributing to overall stability in society,” she said.

Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana said the government employees should perform their duties under the legal framework.

She also urged the participating district-level officials to discharge their respective duties with utmost sincerity and honesty so that the cases pending against the officials are reduced.

She further stated that laws are time-sensitive, and failure to present the correct legal provisions at the right time can often lead to complicated situations. Therefore, understanding the laws is necessary for personal interest, institutional needs, and above all, for enhancing the reputation of the government, she added.

Secretary Mahbuba Farjana also urged the information officers to work as an innovative team. At the same time, she instructed them to work in coordination with the district administration.

DC Afia Akhter spoke on the occasion as special guest.
