IAU expels 36 Kamil examinees for adopting unfair means in exams

DHAKA, Jan 21, 2026 (BSS) - The Islamic Arabic University has expelled 36 students from various madrasas of the country for one year for resorting to malpractice during the Kamil (Postgraduate) 1st and 2nd year examinations-2023.

The decision of expulsion was approved at the 40th IAU syndicate meeting this afternoon with IAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Shamsul Alam in the chair, said a release this evening. 

“However, the expelled students will be able to sit for the same year's examination again from the next session . . .  Besides, letters were sent to the secretaries concerned of eleven centers warning them against the tendency of cheating in the Kamil (Postgraduate) 2-year long 1st and 2nd part examinations.” it said.

 IAU VC said no cheating will be tolerated in the examination and if necessary, the examination center will be canceled.

Taking strong stance against the malpractices in exams, he categorically said, “We won’t allow cheating under any circumstances and along with the examinees, the concerned room invigilator will also be dismissed. “
