President greets Muslims on Eid-ul-Azha

DHAKA, May 27, 2026 (BSS)- President Mohammed Shahabuddin has extended heartfelt greetings to the people of the country and the Muslim Ummah across the world on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, calling for the practice of sacrifice and humanity.

In a message issued today, the Head of State said Eid-ul-Azha is not only one of the biggest religious festivals of Muslims but also a symbol of sacrifice, self-purification and humanity.

Referring to the supreme sacrifice and obedience of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS), he said their ideals continue to inspire mankind to uphold faith, patience, and devotion to the Almighty Allah.

The President said the distribution of sacrificial meat among relatives, neighbours and the poor strengthen compassion, brotherhood, and social harmony, while the festival also contributes to the national economy.

He urged people to maintain cleanliness and a healthy environment through proper waste management.

President Shahabuddin also called upon the affluent sections of the society to share the joy of Eid with underprivileged and distressed people.
