President mourns death of eminent artist Mustafa Monwar

DHAKA, June 29, 2026 (BSS) - President Mohammad Shahabuddin today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Ekushey Padak-winning distinguished cultural personality and eminent artist Mustafa Monwar.

In a condolence message, the President prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family members.

"Mustafa Monwar was one of the leading pioneers of Bangladesh's fine arts, puppet art, theatre and children's television programmes," the Head of State mentioned.

The President described his death as an irreparable loss to the country's art and cultural arena.

He said the nation would always remember with profound respect his outstanding contributions to the development of indigenous culture, healthy entertainment for children and the promotion of creativity.
