MANILA, July 10, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - A landslide sparked by heavy rains driven by Typhoon Bavi killed 10 people in the southern Philippines on Friday, authorities said, bringing the storm's death toll to at least 15.

"Ten people got buried and were killed" when soil saturated by days of rain caused the landslide in Mindanao's Sarangani province, regional civil defence director Rodrigo Sosmena told AFP.

Earlier in the day, at least five people were confirmed dead and six others missing in a separate landslide on the island.
