Irregularity in relief distribution will not be accepted: Agri minister tells in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, July 18, 2026 (BSS)- Fisheries, Livestock and Agriculture Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid has said the level of destruction in the flood-affected Chattogram region is extremely colossal.

"Any irregularity or corruption in the distribution of seeds and vaccines for cattle will not be accepted. The government's has 'zero tolerance' policy on the issue, he said.

The minister said this during a meeting with divisional and district officials at Chattogram Circuit House today.

The minister further mentioned that while it is not feasible for the government to address all losses immediately, seeds, fertilizers, cattle vaccines, and other essential support are being provided to farmers for their swift recovery. 

Amin Ur Rashid said everybody is passing a difficult time in their lives. When the government and society support those affected during such period, it empowers them to rebound.  

The government is diligently working for rehabilitation of the flood affected farmers and others, he said.

Concerning the health protection of livestock, the minister announced that 100% of the livestock in the flood affected areas will receive the FMD (foot-and-mouth disease) vaccine within next 15 days.
 
He said relevant officials must act with the highest level of responsibility to guarantee that all government aid reaches the genuinely affected individuals and that no one is left without support.
 
Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Khorshed Alam and senior officials of the various departments under the ministry were present.
