RAJSHAHI, July 28, 2026 (BSS) – Professor Akhtar Hossain of the Department of Civil Engineering has joined as the new Pro-Vice Chancellor (Pro-VC) of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET).

He formally submitted his joining letter to Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr S M Abdur Razzak this morning.

On the occasion of his appointment, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr S M Abdur Razzak, on behalf of the RUET family, congratulated Professor Akhtar Hossain.

Later, teachers, students, officers and employees of the university greeted the newly appointed Pro-VC with flowers.

Earlier on Monday, the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education announced the appointment of Professor Dr Md Akhtar Hossain as the Pro-Vice Chancellor of RUET through a notification issued by its Scholarship and Engineering University Branch.
