DHAKA, Aug 03, 2026 (BSS) - The inauguration of the Prime Minister's Gold Cup National Football Tournament-2026 has been postponed.

The tournament, which was scheduled to be inaugurated on August 9, is now expected to begin in the second week of September, said an order issued by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) today.

The DSHE said the opening ceremony was deferred following instructions from the Ministry of Education. It added that the revised inauguration date and the detailed fixture of the tournament will be announced later.

The directorate has directed all Regional Directors, Deputy Directors, District Education Officers and Upazila Secondary Education Officers across the country to take necessary measures in line with the revised schedule.
