DHAKA, Aug 21, 2026 (BSS) - Jagannath University (JnU) Vice Chancellor Prof Rais Uddin has congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the 23rd President of Bangladesh.

In a message issued today, the JnU VC conveyed his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the newly elected President, who will also serve as the Chancellor of the country's universities.

Prof Rais Uddin wished the President good health, success and a fruitful tenure in office.

The VC expressed hope that, with his wisdom, experience and leadership, the newly elected President would further strengthen Bangladesh's democratic development and national unity.

The VC also expressed optimism that the President's leadership would contribute to greater dynamism and progress in the country's higher education and research sectors.
