DHAKA, Aug 26, 2026 (BSS) - Seven more children died of suspected measles 
across the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release of the 
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today.

It said the number of suspected measles cases reported in the last 24 hours 
was 1,098, while the total number of suspected cases from March 15 to August 
26 stood at 152,736.

The number of confirmed measles cases in the last 24 hours was 73, bringing 
the total number of confirmed cases since March 15 to 18,651.

From March 15 to August 26, a total of 133,573 suspected measles patients 
were admitted to different hospitals across the country while 128,765 
recovered and were discharged during the same period.

With the seven deaths of suspected measles, the total number of cases who 
died of suspected measles since March 15 reached 851.

No one died of confirmed measles in the last 24 hours. Since March 15, a 
total of 99 people have died of confirmed measles.
