HSC Alumni Association reunion registration inaugurated at NGDC in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Aug 29, 2026 (BSS) - Registration activities for the reunion of the HSC Alumni Association of New Government Degree College (NGDC), Rajshahi, were inaugurated today.

Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, inaugurated the registration programme as chief guest at a ceremony held at the college auditorium this afternoon.

Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton attended as a special guest and spoke at the event.

The programme was presided over by Advocate Mohammad Shafiqul Haque Milon, MP, chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Water Resources and chief patron of the NGDC HSC Alumni Association.

Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Faridul Islam, Rajshahi Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Ershad Ali Isha and Rajshahi Development Authority Chairman Abul Kalam Azad Sweet also attended.

Former Rajshahi College Principal Professor Habibur Rahman, former NGDC Principal Professor SM Zargis Qadir and first-batch alumnus Shahed Uddin Mondol also spoke at the programme.

NGDC Principal and Alumni Association Convener Professor Dr Shikha Sarker delivered the welcome address.

Heads of departments, teachers, former and current students and members of the Alumni Association were present.

The speakers said NGDC has long played an important role in the educational and cultural heritage of Rajshahi. They said the Alumni Association would help bring former students together, strengthen communication among them and contribute to the development of the college and the welfare of its students.

They expressed hope that the registration drive would create a strong and effective platform for the college's former students.

The former students were urged to join the association and complete their registration.
