MANIKGANJ, Aug 31, 2026 (BSS) - The cultural competition at the educational institutions level marking the Nazrul Year 2026 has kicked off here in the district.

The Cultural Affairs Ministry with support from the district administration and district Shilpakala Academy organised a series of events on the occasion.

A large number of students of primary schools, kindergarten, high schools, technical institute, madrasa, college and university attended at the competitions.

Joint Secretary of the Cultural Affairs Ministry Moshiur Rahman inaugurated the competitions as the chief guest with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Khayrul Islam in the chair.

Md. Abdul Monnaf Khan, former district education officer and also the President of Nazrul -Promila Parishad Central Committee was the main speaker at the event. Shamim Biswas, the Member Secretary of Manikganj district Jasas convening committee and district cultural affairs officer Moklesa Hilali also spoke on the occasion.

The inaugural function followed by cultural events including Nazrul songs and dances presented by artists from the district Shilpakala Academy.
