RAJSHAHI, August 31, 2026 (BSS) – Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has launched an ‘Integrated Hall Management Software (IHMS)’ to bring transparency in residential hall management for the convenience of students.

RUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr S M Abdur Razzak inaugurated the web-based integrated automation system this noon. 

At that time, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtar Hossain along with deans of various faculties and teachers and students were present.

The ‘Integrated Hall Management Software’ has been developed to bring all the overall activities of the residential halls of RUET under a complete digital platform.
 
Through this, the conventional manual and paper-based processes of the halls will come to an end and the entire system will be connected with the university's existing academic registration system.
 
Currently, tasks like fee collection, dues clearance, dining coupon distribution, asset accounting, and paying salaries to employees in RUET halls are mainly carried out manually.
 
As a result, students and hall staff have to be physically present at the counter and a large amount of cash transactions occur at the hall level.
 
Also, it becomes quite difficult for the provosts and the university administration to get real-time integrated information on the financial and asset status of the halls.
 
This new digital initiative has been taken to eliminate these problems. Among the main features and modules of the proposed software are: 
 
Students will be able to pay hall fees, seat rent, dining charges, and registration fees through a designated student portal without going to any counter or bank.
 
This payment can be made through mobile financial services like bKash, Nagad, Rocket, debit or credit cards, and internet banking.
 
After payment, they will be able to collect the automatically generated digital money receipt.
 
If hall dues are not paid, no student will be able to register for courses.
 
The course registration module will automatically verify the matter of dues and if there are dues, it will display a direct link to pay them.
 
However, in case of genuine difficulty, provosts will be able to conditionally extend the deadline.
 
Completely ending the manual paper coupons, a secure QR code or dynamic digital token system will be introduced.
 
Tokens will be verified in the dining hall by scanning through a device or app, which cannot be reused, duplicated, or transferred. As a result, revenue leakage in dining will be prevented and food wastage will be reduced.
 
This system will have a live digital inventory of all assets including hall furniture, electronic equipment, generators, water pumps.
 
Provosts will be able to view the condition of hall assets from any device and track online service requests for maintenance.
 
Attendance, leave, and payroll preparation for all permanent, contractual, and daily-basis hall employees will be done automatically. This module will have arrangements from preparing salary bills and pay slips to direct salary payment through the bank.
 
In addition, the software will also have facilities for merit or criteria-based seat allocation, complete student profiles, digital notice board with mobile notifications, and complaint tracking.
 
If this proposed initiative is implemented, financial transparency will come to the RUET administration, the audit process will be easier, and the risk of cash transactions at the hall level will drop to zero.
 
On the other hand, students will be able to pay fees from anywhere at any time and will be freed from the long-standing hassle of standing in line at the counter.
