DHAKA, Sept 1, 2026 (BSS)- National University Vice-Chancellor Professor ASM Amanullah today paid a courtesy visit to Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Nina P. Cainglet at the Philippine Embassy here in Gulshan.
The meeting discussed various aspects of enhancing higher education, research and institutional cooperation between Bangladesh and the Philippines.
The two sides also discussed the scopes of expanding technical and technology-based education and developing skilled manpower in the healthcare sector.
The meeting discussed prospects for cooperation between National University and leading universities in the Philippines, particularly the University of the Philippines, in technical, healthcare and tourism education.
NU VC briefed the Philippine ambassador about the ongoing reform activities and academic plans of National University.
"In this era of globalisation, the exchange of experience and knowledge with renowned universities in the Philippines will play a helpful role in bringing our students up to international standards," he said.
The Philippine ambassador praised the extensive academic network of National University and its role in expanding education across the country.
She also expressed her firm commitment that the Philippine government would stand by Bangladesh in any kind of cooperation in the education sector.
Director of the International Desk of National University Raj Bin Kasem, officials from different departments and senior representatives of the Philippine Embassy were present at the meeting.
