Rejected politicians' voices are very loud: Hasan

CHATTOGRAM, May 11, 2024 (BSS) - Foreign Minister and AL Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the voices of people rejected in politics are very loud.

The foreign minister said while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the newly elected executive committee of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), Chattogram district unit, marking the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.

Hasan said there are some other groups and individuals including Mahmudur Rahman Manna, who have no basis for their party.

"Manna has changed only seven political parties so far. By breaking JSD... he founded BASAD, again he broke BASAD and now joined Gonotontro Moncha. In politics, they are the outcasts. Their words have no value," he added.

Referring to a comment of Manna made On Friday that the incumbent government has no foundation, the minister replied as saying, "They (Opposition parties) wanted to throw us (AL government) away. But while trying to pull out, they fell down. Now they are slowly trying to stand up with their broken backbone. We saw the competition of fleeing in front of Naya Paltan office on October 28 last year".

Chattogram Zilla Parishad Chairman and Red Crescent District Unit President ATM Pearul Islam presided over the function while Chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Professor Dr. MU Kabir Chowdhury addressed the function as the special guest.

District Red Crescent General Secretary Master Aslam Khan delivered the welcome speech in the city's Andorkillah Red Crescent field here.

Dr Hasan said that his (Manna) party is small, when they hold a rally there with 20 to 30 people but invite around 50 journalists to cover it.

The foreign minister said the whole world has appreciated the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the country is moving forward correctly under her dynamic leadership.

He said, "Over 80 heads of state and government alongside United
Nations congratulated our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina after the election".
