Court attaches Tk 5cr properties of CID Inspector Ekram, wife

DHAKA, July 15, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to attach properties 
worth more than Taka five crore of the Inspector of Criminal Investigation 
Department (CID) Md Ekram Ali, his wife Kanij Fatema Mukta and other people 
related to his interest.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the 
order allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). 

The properties, which are to be attached, include plots and flats in 
Dhanmandi, Gulshan, Badda, Keraniganj and Gopalganj. The estimated cost of 
the properties is Taka 5.38 crore. 

The ACC in its plea said the commission is probing allegations of amassing 
illegal wealth against the couple and it has learned that they are trying to 
hand over or transfer the properties to evade justice.

"For the sake of proper investigation, the properties should be attached," it 
added.
