Dipu Moni shown arrested in graft case

DHAKA, July 16, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today showed former social welfare minister Dr Dipu Moni arrested in a case lodged for amassing illegal wealth, by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Acting judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court Md Ibrahim Miah passed the order as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to show her arrested in the case. 

After that the court sent her back to jail, ACC public prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir told BSS.

ACC official Rashedul Hasan filed the case against Dr Dipu Moni on February 11 for amassing illegal wealth of Taka 5.92 crore and making suspicious transactions of Taka 59.79 crore through 28 bank accounts.

The former minister was arrested on August 19, 2024, and was shown arrested in separate cases filed with the different police stations.
