DHAKA, July 21, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today showed Salman F Rahman, the former private industry and investment affairs adviser to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, arrested in a graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order as police produced him before the court and the ACC pleaded to show him arrested in the case. He was then sent back to jail.

The ACC found evidence against Salman of embezzling Taka 1100 crore from IFIC Bank by taking loans in the name of fake companies. It filed two cases against 39 people, including Salman F Rahman, his son Shayan F Rahman, and former Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Anwaruzzaman. Salman today was shown arrested in one of those cases.

Salman F Rahman was arrested from the capital's Sadarghat area on August 13, 2024, as he, along with former Law Minister Anisul Huq, was trying to flee the capital through the waterways.
