Titas fines over Tk 1 lakh, lodges 7 cases for using gas illegally

DHAKA, July 21, 2025 (BSS) – Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company (TGTDC) has fined Tk 1.05 lakh and filed cases against unauthorized gas users in the capital and Gazipur area.

Separate mobile courts led by TGTDA conducted drives against illegal gas connections and unauthorized gas usages.

A mobile court removed illegal gas pipeline, unauthorized distribution line and disconnected 103 household connections during the drives at Nandipara area in Khilgaon.   

Apart from this, the court disconnected 35 burners and fined Tk 80,000 and filed 5 cases at the area.

In Gazipur, TGTDA led mobile court fined Tk 25,000 for using illegal booster, which was usually uses for increasing gas pressure at Duttapara in Gazipur.

The mobile court also filed two cases during the campaign.

The two separate drives were conducted by executive magistrates of energy and mineral resources division of the ministry Milton Roy and Saikat Raihan.

These drives are part of a larger effort to curb illegal gas usage, recover outstanding dues, and ensure smooth gas supply to legitimate customers.
